Samsung is gearing up to unveil its latest mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A16, and ahead of the official announcement, key specifications of the device have surfaced online.
The Galaxy A16 will debut in two variants: the Galaxy A16 4G and Galaxy A16 5G, making it the first Galaxy mid-range device to offer an impressive six years of software support. While the two versions are largely similar, the main differences lie in the processor and network capabilities.
Display and Design
Both the Galaxy A16 4G and 5G variants feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. The dimensions are identical for both models, measuring 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9 mm, with a weight of 200 g.
Processor and Performance
The 4G variant will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, while the 5G variant is expected to house either the Exynos 1300 or Dimensity 6300+ chipset, an upgrade over the previous Dimensity 6100+ found in its predecessor.
Camera Setup
The Galaxy A16 is equipped with a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor, ensuring versatile photography capabilities. The front houses a 13MP selfie camera for crisp and clear video calls and selfies.
Connectivity and Features
In terms of connectivity, both variants will support Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C, and GPS. For durability, the Galaxy A16 comes with an IP54 rating, providing resistance against dust and water splashes.
Battery and Charging
The device is expected to include a 5,000mAh battery, paired with 25W fast charging support, ensuring long-lasting usage with quicker recharge times.
